Introduction
While making home visits with the Legion of Mary to the newly baptized,
we discovered that the young parents of our church family were interested
in parish involvement. However, they were unable to commit to an
organization because of their young children. From this beginning, the New
Mother Ministry was formed in our parish in January of 1997.

Purpose
Our goal is to pray for the parents before their baby is
born. Once their baby is born and at home, a team serves the parents by
bringing supper to them each night for one week. Currently, we have four
teams serving the new parents of our parish.

Guidelines for Service Use
The one guideline established in order to be served is
that the family be registered members of our parish church.

Membership
Most of our team members are parish members who have been
served in the past. This gives the young parents of our parish a way to
meet each other as well as fulfilling their need to help in the parish
life of St. Theresa.
As St. Theresa said, "We are called to be the hands,
feet and eyes of our Lord." If you are going to have a baby or if you
are interested in being the hands of our Lord by belonging to this
