Introduction
The Legion of Mary is a world-wide organization of
Catholic men and women who offer their services to their pastor to aid him
in performing spiritual works in the parish. Participation in the Legion
of Mary is one way to satisfy an individual's obligation, incurred through
the Sacrament of Confirmation, to fulfill his or her duty as a soldier of
Christ.

Membership
There are two types of membership, active members and
auxiliary (praying) members. Active membership is open to Catholic men and
women over 18 years old for the Senior Praesidia and under 18 for the
Junior Praesidia.
Active members have an obligation to fullfill the duties
which membership in the Legion involves: attendance at weekly meetings,
daily recitation of the Legion Prayer, performance of 2 hours of assigned
apostolic work weekly, and an obligation not to discuss with others
matters learned at the meeting or in connection with the work.
Auxiliary members' duties are the daily recitation of the
Rosary and prayers contained in the Legion prayer leaflet called the
"Tessera."

Meetings for Active Members
Meetings are held weekly and the performance of apostolic
work is done under the direction of the Spiritual Director of our parish
church.
At present, we have three praesidiums (the basic unit of
the Legionary system): two senior groups and one junior. The senior
groups meet on Tuesdays, one at 9:15 am and the other at 6:00 pm, in the
conference room of the rectory. The Junior Legion of Mary meets at 5:30 pm
on Wednesdays in the same room.
