St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Carlyss will hold their annual Carlyss Cajun Bon Ton Festival on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday September 22, 23, & 24, 2006. The gates open at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, 9:00 A.M. on Saturday and Sunday, and the festival closes at Midnight Friday and Saturday and ends at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. 

The St Theresa’s Carlyss Bon Ton Festival has been chosen as a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society for September 2006. This is the second consectitive year to be chosen for this award. Every month, two events are selected from each of the 10-member states. The Top 20 events publication is distributed throughout the United States and makes the list a coveted honor. The Carlyss Bon Ton Festival was selected from events and festivals in the 10 southern state regions. 

The Bon Ton Festival is held on the grounds of St. Theresa Catholic Church at 4822 Carlyss Dr, in Carlyss.  

DIRECTIONS: From IH-10 take the Sulphur/ Cameron/ Hwy 27 exit, go south on Hwy 27 for approximately 1 mile to the first stop light, this will be Carlyss Drive. Turn right onto Carlyss Drive and follow it around for approximately three (3) miles, St. Theresa’s Church will be on your right.  

HONORS: We are proud to be selected by the Southeast Tourism Society as one of the top 20 Events for the month of September.

Every month through out the year, two events are selected by the Southeast Tourism Society from each of the 10-member states. This year the Bon Ton Festival has been named as a Top 20 Event in this 10 state region which is a coveted honor.

Events include Live Music, Carnival Rides (supplied by D’Heilly Rides Inc. from Church Point, La., Games, water slides, jumping castles, Bingo, and Silent and Live Auctions…with all of the excitement and activities, you’re sure to get hungry! And we are here to help take care of your appetite,

There are catfish dinners, Gumbo, Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffe, Red Beans and rice, Bar-B-Q Dinners, Hamburgers, and a sweet shop that can take care of your sweet tooth- Better SAVE ROOM FOR THE DANCING!  

Featured Entertainment for the weekend is still being scheduled. There will be a bands on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday during the day time and of course a local favorite band playing on Saturday night. 

INVITATION: The Public is invited with free admission and free parking all weekend, so come pass a good time at the Carlyss Cajun Bon Temps Festival September 22, 23, and 24 on the Grounds of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Carlyss, Louisiana.  

Main Event: Our live auction this year will begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2006 right after the outdoor mass which starts at 4:00 p.m.  

 This year’s auction will be produced by auctioneer Mr. Kenneth Boudreaux from Moss Bluff, La.   

Sound and lights for the auction will be supplied by Marvin Simon and Deep South Production. 

The auction, along with all of our outdoor activities, will be taking place on stage at the  

‘Cameron State Bank – AutoPlex 2000 Bon-Ton Pavilion’ 

Come early and enjoy the food and fun during the day Saturday.  Make plans to stay and enjoy the sound and entertainment of the bands through out the weekend.

Avery special thanks to our pastor Father John Welsh for his support and prayers to make this festival a success.  

The proceeds from the festival will be going to help pay for the New Religious Education building that will be completed the first week of October this year. 

This year a percentage of the money raised is going to help defray the cost of expenses incurred by our parishioners that have been hit the hardest by hurricane Rita/
