I am currently serving as Director of Formation for our
La Salette students in Washington DC. This position allows me to continue
another ministry I have enjoyed over the years: hat of preaching and
directing retreats and parish missions. I have been a member of the faculty
training spiritual directors at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield CT and
I am now leading a seminar in Spirituality for (mostly) priests and
religious on sabbatical in the Washington area. Over the years, I have
served in Shrine ministry, as Director of Novices and on the provincial
leadership team. I received my doctorate in Spiritual Theology from the
University of St. Michael College (University of Toronto), Toronto,
Ontario.
Fr.
Joe Baxer, M.S.
Variety in ministry and living situations have
characterized my life. Over the 25 -plus years of Priesthood, I have been a
teacher and worked in La Salette Formation, served on our international
leadership team based in Rome and have traveled broadly in leading seminars
and workshops in holistic spirituality, organizational planning and
multiculturalism with emphasis on is-sues of peace and social justice within
the global community. I believe all of us are called to be lifelong
learners. Currently I serve as administrator of St. Anne and Immaculate
Conception parishes in the inner city of Hartford CT.
Fr.
Gene Barrette, M.S.
Recent years have found me ministering in parishes. I
am currently the Associate Pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Smyrna
GA where I focus most of my energies on the O.C.I.A. (Order of Christian
Initiation of Adults), Adult Education and Remember Church. Prior to these
few years here, I served as Pastor of Good Shepherd Parish in Orlando FL. In
my distant past, I spent many years in the teaching and Formation ministries
as well as serving on the leadership team of the international La Salette
congregation. And the near future holds some changes. In August of 1999 I am
planning to enter a program of training for Christian Counseling.
Bro.
Robert Belliveau, M.S.
I have been here at Mary Queen Church in Friendswood,
Texas, since 1997 in the role of Deacon Pastoral Associ‑
ate. There are three of us La Salettes serving a commu‑
nity of 1,700 families. I am here in Mary Queen Province
_ j (St. Louis MO) on loan for three years from Seven Do‑
lors Province (Hartford CT). My duties consist of
preaching at some of the daily and weekend liturgies, doing Baptism and
Marriage preparation classes and witnessing a marriage when there is no
Mass. As well, I coordinate the services of the Eucharistic Ministers and I
lead or see to the details of funeral liturgies (without Mass) Wake and
Committal Services. I try to be present wherever I am needed. For this
northern boy, winters here in the Houston suburbs are great ... but summers
are not so great.

Fr. Dan Bradley, M.S.
I was born and raised in Lawrence MA, the youngest of
five children. I entered my religious family of La Salette in 1990 and was
ordained a priest in 1994. My first assignment found me down South, in
Georgia, at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Smyrna. My current ministry
finds me even farther South in Orlando FL where I serve as parochial vicar
and chaplain of the parish's grammar school. I have enjoyed working in the
Pre-Cana ministry and in Crossroads, a singles retreat ministry in the
Diocese of Orlando. Also, I am the La Salette Vocation Director for the
State of Florida.

Fr. Raymond Cadran, M.S.
I am currently Associate Pastor at the Catholic Church
of St. Ann in Marietta, Georgia. This is my third year in the largest parish
in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, which the La Salettes are privileged to
serve. The Parish comprises 4,600 families and is a lively, energetic and
spiritual family of faith. My work here focuses on such groups as our
Pro-Life ministry, the Liturgy and Spiritual Life ministries, the Religious
Formation groups from Pre-School through a very strong Parish School of
Religion, Adult Education ministry and our Life Teen program.

Fr. George Brennan, M.S.
Ever since I was an altar boy at Our Lady of Sorrows
Parish in Hartford CT, I have known the La Salette story and desired to be a
La Salette priest. That story of a God who yearns to be close to us and the
Mother of God who cries when that does not happen has been a source of
inspiration for my spiritual journey and made me feel very much alive.
Studying the process and problems people encounter on the spiritual journey
has led me to become a licensed psychologist and to dedicate myself to the
ministry of pastoral counseling. Currently I am the Director of our Pastoral
Counseling Center at La Salette Shrine, Attleboro MA.

Having worked in parish ministry for the last twenty
years, recently returned to Enfield NH (where I had previously worked in
Formation ministry) to take up the roles of Di-rector of the La Salette
Shrine and Superior of the local community. The natural beauty of our Shrine
grounds and setting beckons the busy person searching for quiet, for a place
of contemplation and reflection. However, I and the staff try to pay
attention to the pilgrims once they have arrived. I hope and pray that this
unique and relaxed setting be, for all who come here, an opportunity and a
grace to heed Mary's message and be reconciled with God.

Fr. Fernand Cassista, M. S.
I was born and raised in Nashua NH and came to know La
Salette through grade school friends who attended La Salette Seminary in
Enfield NH. In my years of ministry (I am celebrating my 40th anniversary
of La Salette religious life this year) I have greatly enjoyed shrine and
parish ministry as well as developing audio-visual teaching programs.
How-ever, I most enjoy what I am doing now - one-on-one encounters in the
spiritual life through retreats and spiritual direction here a La Salette
Retreat House in Attleboro MA. When I'm not cheering for the Red Sox. I
enjoy reading, music and doing arts and crafts.

Fr. Ron Foshage, M.S.
Presently I am the pastor of four small mission
churches in southeast Texas. St. Michael's in Jasper is the mother church
with the missions being Our Lady of La Salette in Kirbyville, St. Raymond's
in Rayburn Country and a mission on Toledo — Bend Lake. The entire parish is
made up of 425 families although the numbers swell considerably in the
summer months because of vacationers to Sam Rayburn Lake and Toledo Bend
Lake. Many Hispanic families are moving into this area and we are in the
process of adding Masses in Spanish at St. Michael's and Our Lady of La
Salette churches.

Fr. Camille Doucet, M.S.
Having been in the ministry for over thirty years is a
gift that never ceases to bestow wonderful blessings. With each new
challenge comes new insights and new graces. Born in New Brunswick, Canada,
I joined the La Salette Missionaries in 1965. Over the years I have found
that the event of La Salette has called me to a truer realization of the
presence of the Father's love. Having been called to serve in Parish
ministry, Formation ministry and Shrine ministry, I have encountered
different expressions of the same reality - the gift of a caring, loving
God. I share my thoughts and prayers in the hope that this same gift may
unite us on our pilgrim journey.

Fr. John Gabriel, M.S.
My journey in and with the La Salette Community has not
been typical. Born and raised in Chicago, I was educated at La Salette
Seminary in Olivet IL and was professed as a Brother in 1973. For the next
19 years I worked in various ministries in Olivet, Milwaukee and Twin Lakes
WI. And, in 1985, I received permission to study for the priesthood - a
process that led to my Ordination in August of 1991. Since then, I have
served as Director of the retreat program in Olivet and ministered at the
Shrine in Twin Lakes. Presently, I am a member of the Program team at La
Salette Shrine in Attleboro MA.

Fr. Gil Genest, M.S.
After serving more than thirty years in the ministries
of preaching retreats, Shrine work and provincial administration, I am
discovering the joys and challenges of full time parish ministry for the
first time. In the past, I invested much time and energy in being a
spiritual director in the Cursillo Movement - an opportunity to journey with
people thirsting for a deeper experience of the spiritual life. I am finding
a comfortable connection in my work with the parish R.C.I.A. (Rite of
Christian Initiation for Adults) and the Small Christian Communities being
established here. I am currently as-signed to Sacred Heart Parish in Lebanon
NH.

Fr. Leo C. Holleran, M.S.
For many years I ministered in the field of healthcare,
as a chaplain, a Director of a Pastoral Care Department in a hospital and
finally as Supervisor in Clinical Pastoral Education. Since 1995, 1 have
served as Pastor of St. Matthew — Catholic Church in Tyrone GA where the
current major project is the construction of a new church building. In my 25
years of Religious Life and 21 years of Priesthood, I have greatly benefited
from my other interests in life, like biking, roller blading, swimming and
racquetball. But my favorite pastime is, and for a long time has been,
downhill skiing.

Fr. Joe Gosselin, M.S.
My latest assignment has taken me back here to Our Lady
of the Rosary Church in Windsor, Ontario. It has been a challenge on many
levels. The first has been to return to a parish that I served some twenty
years ago. A second has been to
maximize lay participation at all levels of ministry up
to and including direct leadership responsibility. A third has been to
vision how parishes can stay alive and vital in the face of a severely
reduced number of priests. A fourth challenge. has been to maintain a
meaningful La Salette religious life at some distance from most of my
confreres. These challenges are paradoxically life-giving because people
here are so welcoming and many are truly zealous.

Fr. William Kaliyadan, M.S.
I was born and raised in India, in the State of Kerala,
where I completed my studies in Philosophy. Joining the La Salette
Congregation, I pursued seminary Formation and Theology Studies in the
Philippines where I was ordained a priest in 1994. I have served as Pastor
and Director of one of our La Salette Schools there and obtained an MA in
Guidance and Counseling. I came to the U.S., to the La Salette Shrine in
Attleboro MA, in order to orient myself to the work of Shrine ministry.
Presently I am on loan to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Province (Attleboro)
and serving at Our Lady of the Cape Parish in Brewster MA.

Albany NY is my home town. I made my First Profession
of Vows in the La Salette Community in 1969 and was ordained I to the
priesthood in 1975 at the La Salette Shrine in Ipswich MA. I have worked in
a variety of ministries over these years. La Salette parishes in Holyoke MA,
Hartford CT and Orlando FL have been my parochial assignments. I have also
worked in education, been the Director of students on the pre-novitiate
level and Vocation Director. Currently I am the Shrine Moderator and
Development Director here in Altamont NY.

Fr. Matthew Manjaly, M.S.
I was born in Kerala, India, in 1958, professed as a La
Salette Missionary in 1983 and ordained to the Priesthood in 1987 in the
Philippines. I worked for several years as a Parish Priest there and, in
1992, I returned to India and Formation minis-try as Rector of the minor
seminary. I have just completed a sabbatical year in the U.S. where I have
participated in various renewal seminars and programs and spent some time
preaching mission appeals. I am currently assigned as Director of the
Philosophy Department of La Salette Seminary in Bangalore, India.

Fr. Richard Lavoie, M.S.
"In transition" is the best way to describe my present
status. I am currently on a sabbatical leave after serving as Director of
Novices in St. Louis MO during these past two years. Accompanying novices in
their special year has given me the opportunity to look at my own life.
These years have been a challenge and a time of growth. I now find myself in
the position of asking what's next. I look forward to this year of
discernment. I have ministered in parishes, at our Shrines and in the
Philippines. For the past twenty-five years I have been involved in the
charismatic renewal and the healing ministry.

Fr. Roland S. Nadeau, M.S.
The ministry of hospital chaplain brings me into
intimate and vital contact with people who, oftentimes, are most receptive,
vulnerable and open to using their resources of faith and prayer. I enjoy
sharing the teamwork of healthcare with physicians, nurses, social workers
and various therapists in ministering to people in need. Tears and anguish
are the currency of realm and sometimes "self-sown potatoes and blossoming
gardens" come out of nowhere. This all happens here at the
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon NH. As well, I serve on the
Provincial Council leadership team of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Province
based in Attleboro MA.

Fr. Terry Niziolek, M.S.
I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. It was all
part of God's plan to call me to La Salette by leading me to attend St.
Pancratius School in Chicago from where have come eight La Salette
vocations. While I was in eighth grade, two La Salettes celebrated their
first mass at the parish. I soon entered the seminary in Olivet IL, and then
went to further study in Lisle IL and Milwaukee WI. Ministry during the past
thirty-three years has called me to be a high school teacher, a hospital
chaplain, a pastor and now a shrine director - all part of God's plan.

I joined the La Salette Community at my First
Profession in 1989 and I was ordained a priest in 1993. In these years, I
have devoted most of my time and energy to parish work. Currently, I am the
Administrator and Co-Pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Hartford CT.
Previously I served at Good Shepherd Parish in Orlando FL and at St. James
Parish in Danielson CT. And, I have another community responsibility. I
serve as Provincial Assistant and Treasurer of Our Lady of Seven Dolors
Province based here in Hartford.

Fr. Jack Nuelle, M.S.
Over two decades of life and ministry in the La Salette
missions of Madagascar have given me an understanding and appreciation of
the universal Church and the international La Salette Congregation. In
these recent years since my return to the United States, I coordinate the
services of some 35 of my La Salette confreres as we do "mission appeals"
throughout the U.S. and Canada. In my ministry as Director of the North
American La Salette Mission Center located in Hartford CT, I also write a
monthly newsletter, Vision and Mission, through which I try to bring the
present day missionary challenges, joys and adventures of La Salettes from
Africa/Madagascar, Asia and South America to some 5000 readers.

Fr. John J. O'Neill, M.S.
I have been a La Salette priest for over 37 years.
Interest in education, youth and vocation work have led me through a Master
of Education degree from Boston College, a National Science Foundation
Scholarship from the University of Missouri on to be the President of the
Northeastern Collegiate Athletic Conference in upstate New York and to be
the first National Director of Vocations for the Catholic Church in the
U.S. I have also served as Provincial Superior of the Missionaries of La
Salette for nine years. I am currently in team ministry at St. James Church
in Danielson CT and on the Board of Trustees for the La Salettes.
Storytelling is what I like best.

Fr. Donald L. Paradis, M.S.
Born in New Bedford MA in 1932, ordained to the
priest-hood in Rome in 1958, I was privileged over four decades to serve
God's people in shrine, retreat and spiritual direction ministries, mostly
in Attleboro MA. Memorable and rewarding stints as a La Salette formation
director and later as a university chaplain brought my joy to full measure
in the last decade. Gratefully enjoying the leisure a reduced workload now
brings and , honored to serve as its general editor, I am happy to
contribute to the Gospel Meditation Project my long acquaintance with and
deep love for the La Salette mystery.
Fr.
Edward J. Richard, M.S.
I am currently the Associate Academic Dean and
Assistant Professor of Moral Theology at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, School of
Theology, of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. I also serve as a Spiritual
Director for the seminarians. I am a moral theological consultant to
Archbishop Justin Rigali and the assistant bishops, as well as to various
offices in the Arch-diocese. I am a member of the Committee on the Diaconate
for the formation of Permanent Deacons. For the past three years I have
advised the bishops of Missouri on the Public Policy Committee of the
Missouri Catholic Conference in proposing, evaluating and responding to
legislative initiatives in the Missouri General Assembly. As well, I serve
as the Managing Editor of the Kenrick Semi-nary Catalog and am on the
Editorial Advisory Board of the St. Louis Review.

Fr. Manuel Pereira, M.S.
When I was ordained in 1995, I took for myself the
motto "ordained to serve." And from my current assignment as Assistant
Director of the La Salette Shrine here in Attleboro MA I have tried to reach
out to the many Portuguese and Spanish-speaking people, as well as the
English-speaking folk, who come to the Shrine and/or live in southeastern
New England. This ministry takes the form of Masses-Preaching-Confessions,
healing services, days of recollection, parish retreats, video production
for promotion of the La Salette message and weekend assistance at local
Portuguese-speaking parishes in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I even spend
some time seeing to the function of the Shrine sacristy and to the Chapel
decorations.

Fr. James Stajkowski, M.S.
I am currently the Provincial Superior of Mary Queen of
Peace Province and live at our Shrine in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Besides my
duties in administration, I am also involved in the pastoral work of the
Shrine. I lead days of recollection and preach for some of the pilgrimages
that come to the Shrine. I also offer spiritual direction for some local
people and, on the week ends, I help with the liturgies in many area
parishes.
Fr.
Normand J. Theroux, M.S.
I sensed the call to be a priest from a young age. Even
in those tender years, I knew that I wanted to live that vocation within a
religious order or congregation. During this year, I am celebrating my 50th
anniversary of La Salette religious life. Over these years, I have developed
a deep love for Sacred Scripture and for the La Salette Event. Much of my
time has been spent speaking and writing about both. For many years, I
taught Scripture at college and adult edcuation levels and have written
extensively about La Salette spirituality. Preaching retreats and missions
in religious communities and parishes has alos been one of my favorite
activities. Currently I reside at La Salette of Attleboro (MA) where I
devote most of my time to writing.
